At the core of the Harsdale Haus’ landscaping lies a commitment to sustainability and aesthetic estate style elegance. Our design philosophy was driven by the desire to create a space that not only resonates with the architectural essence of the home but also fosters a deep connection between the inhabitants and nature.
Native Plant Garden: Embracing the local flora, the Landscape features a carefully curated selection of native plants. This not only ensures a lower environmental footprint but also offers an ever changing year-round kaleidoscope of colors.
Pool Alteration: Central to the landscape lies a unique kidney shaped pool, complemented by a spill over spa. The pool is the only survivor of this ground up build, originally constructed in the late ‘80s; this rock solid pool has undergone a complete renovation and is now at the pinnacle of backyard entertainment!
Outdoor Living Spaces: We designed multiple outdoor living areas, including a natural bluestone patio with a handmade COR-TEN steel fire bowl, a heavy timber pergola to escape the summer sun, and multiple porches to capture the expansive views of the property.
Sustainable Practices: This project features an immense amount of underground drainage, allowing for water to naturally drain on site instead of pumping it off to the storm system.
Lighting Design: Strategic lighting illuminates pathways and highlights key elements of both man made and natural features, transforming the space into a mesmerizing spectacle at night.
Adapting to the unique topography of the site was a challenge that we turned into an opportunity. By employing terracing and natural stone retaining walls, we created a multi-level landscape that adds depth and character to the property.
